Case Study: Horton 2021+ Doors Installed at Sandstone Court Extra Care Scheme

At Horton Automatics, we’re committed to creating safe, accessible, and durable entrance solutions for every environment — especially where comfort and reliability are essential.

We were proud to supply and support the installation of two Horton 2021+ HD sliding door packages at Sandstone Court, an Extra Care housing scheme in Telford operated by Housing 21.

This scheme, developed by Deeley Construction and façade partner Spec-Al Facades Ltd, provides supported independent living for older adults. It was essential that every element of the building reflected comfort, accessibility, and long-term performance.

As part of this, Horton Automatics was selected to supply high-durability automatic doors tailored for heavy usage — including secure access to the onsite buggy store.

Our Scope of Work

We provided:

  • 2 x Horton 2021+ HD sliding door packages
  • Integrated screen-work for a seamless fit
  • Complete automation systems to ensure smooth, reliable access

Installed to provide controlled and safe entry into the buggy store area, the doors were designed with everyday practicality in mind — enabling residents to move mobility scooters in and out safely and independently.

Why Horton 2021+ HD?

The Horton 2021+ HD (Heavy Duty) system was the ideal choice for Sandstone Court due to its:

  • Robust build quality – built to withstand high-frequency use
  • Smooth, quiet operation – perfect for residential environments
  • Full DDA compliance – supporting independent access for all residents
  • Low-maintenance design – reducing operational disruptions and cost
  • Smart integration with screen-work – for a professional, clean finish

Collaboration at It’s Best

We’re proud to have worked alongside:

  • Spec-Al Facades Ltd, who handled the façade and entrance interface
  • Deeley Construction, leading the project delivery
  • Housing 21, delivering high-quality extra care housing for the community

This project reflects the importance of great partnerships — and how premium entrance systems like Horton 2021+ can enhance safety, independence, and accessibility in supported living environments.

At Horton Automatics, we understand that a well-designed entrance isn’t just about functionality — it’s about empowering people, creating inclusive spaces, and building for the future.

Sandstone Court is now equipped with doors that residents can rely on every day.
